Dry suit diving is

Depending on the innerwear, the change can be surprising.

Introducing innerwear for diving

There are also innerwear made specifically for dry suits, designed to be used under high pressure and in the enclosed space of a dry suit. Here we will introduce the innerwear actually used by Current Blue instructors and dive masters in the waters of Izu and Boso. As they are specially designed, they are highly recommended as they can efficiently keep you warm with little buoyancy.

Base Layer

[Outlast]

This base layer adjusts between hot and cold and maintains an ideal body temperature. By using different mid-layers according to the season, it can be used for a wide range of periods and areas, with water temperatures ranging from -2°C to 22°C. It also minimizes sweating during land work, making continuous diving comfortable. It is a recommended base layer for those who dive frequently, as it is warmer and more durable than simple quick-drying base layers. It is a base layer that is popular among Current Blue instructors, dive masters, and veteran divers.

Outlast, developed for NASA, is a cutting-edge temperature-regulating material that keeps you comfortable whether it's hot or cold. Whether it's a scorching hot day or a bitterly cold place, it works to maintain the temperature that humans find most comfortable (31°C to 33°C). It works directly on the surface temperature of the human skin, not on the outside temperature or the body's internal temperature, to create an ideal comfortable environment that is neither too hot nor too cold.*Click here for an introduction to Outlast .

Mid Layer

[Thermal Body Smoother]

A mid-layer made by World Dive. This is an innerwear for dry suits, made of fabric with excellent breathability, water repellency, heat retention, and stretchability. The surface repels moisture and keeps out the wind, while allowing moisture from the skin surface to escape. In addition, the surface is treated to allow for smooth putting on and taking off, and the design emphasizes soft comfort and functionality, allowing for both ease of movement and comfort. The pullover has a front zipper for smooth putting on and taking off, and the trousers are set high at the waist to prevent the back from being exposed when sitting down. It is made to be slightly loose.

The material "ZAMZA" used in the Thermal Body Smoother combines material properties and lamination to achieve high pressure resistance, high moisture permeability, and low condensation. It converts sweat into water vapor and releases it, so you can stay comfortable and warm even when you sweat. In addition, the surface is highly water-repellent, so even if water gets inside the dry suit, the surface of the inner layer will repel it. The fabric is easy to wear and can withstand water pressure, and the high-density knit is flexible and stretchy, allowing it to follow any movement without stress. It is a high-performance material.

Mid Layer

[Comfort Prime]

A mid-layer for low water temperatures made by Mobies. This is the ultimate mid-layer that turns the harsh winter into midsummer, using PRIMALOFT, which is also used for mountain climbing. It is the ultimate in warmth. In addition, it is an inner layer that is lightweight, highly water-repellent, and super dry. It also has diver-friendly details such as ventilators on both upper arms (to make it easier to exhaust dead air inside the inner layer) and foot cords (to prevent the hem from rolling up). It can be used for a wide range of activities, from the Izu and Boso seas in the middle of winter to drift ice diving at -2°C. It is best to wear Outlast as a base layer.

PrimaLoft® is an innovative ultra-fine microfiber material developed by ALBANY at the request of the US military as a substitute for down. PrimaLoft® is not only light and warm like down, but also flexible, and has water repellency that down does not have. It was born as an innovative artificial down that combines unprecedented functionality (thermal insulation and cold protection technology) with high practicality that can be used in any environment.
