*Introduction to the Schooner*

G31K01.jpg

The Schooner is an AVIVA360DD manufactured by Adria Mobil, based in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. It is a travel trailer equipped with all the necessities of life, such as doors, windows , a bed , a dining table , a galley (sink and stove ) , a toilet , and a shower , in a box-shaped living room. In Europe, it is called a caravan, and in Japan, it is called a camping trailer. The vehicle that tows it is called a tractor head. The AVIVA, which won the European Innovation Award, is an easy-to-use caravan that is full of originality.

The word "schooner" in the name Schooner refers to a type of sailing ship characterized by a fore-and-aft sail rigging on two or more masts. The two masts are likened to a tractor head and a caravan, and the name Schooner was chosen as such. The name represents the desire to "adventure across the seas of Japan, pushed by the wind from the ocean like a sailing ship, and discover new values."

Q&A

Q When traveling, do you prefer to ride in a tractor head or a caravan?
A You will ride in a tractor head (Hiace) during the trip.

Q: What kind of bedding will be provided?
A: We use sleeping bags for bedding. They can be rented for free (washed and disinfected). You can also bring your own (in that case, they must be washed and disinfected). They are also available at Current Blue. They can be prepared for around 3,000 yen.

Q: Can I use the toilets and showers?
A To avoid odors and wastewater treatment problems, please use other facilities as a general rule for toilets and showers, and they are only available in the caravan in emergencies. Please use toilets at service areas and roadside stations. For bathing, use local hot springs.

Q: Is cooking possible?
A: Of course you can. The galley (stove and sink) is equipped, so you can use it if necessary. We have a clay pot for cooking rice. We also provide retort and freeze-dried foods from MUJI Foods (charge applies).

Q: How much luggage can I bring?

A You can bring clothes and personal items into the caravan. Diving equipment, camera housings, used clothes, etc. should be stored in the tractor.

Q: Is there a power source?

A 100V power supply is available in the caravan via a portable power source. It is convenient to bring a mobile battery to charge your smartphone, etc.

Q: Is there heating and cooling facilities?
A Yes, we do. For heating, we have a Webasto FF heater that uses kerosene. It only requires a small amount of electricity, so you can use it with the caravan's sub-battery wherever you are. For air conditioning, we have a window air conditioner. This requires a large amount of electricity, so it can only be used in places where there is a power supply, such as power sites at campsites and RV parks.

Q: What are the cancellation regulations?
ACancellation policy applies.

Q: How do I apply?
A When you apply, we will take a deposit (10,000 yen). If you cancel, we will refund the deposit. If a cancellation fee is incurred, you will be refunded or asked to pay the difference.

Q: What do you do regarding hygiene?
A The caravan will be cleaned and disinfected after each use. The sofa cover will be replaced with a washed and disinfected one after each use. We will ventilate the room at all times during use. Please disinfect your hands with the alcohol-based wet tissues provided before each ride. Please wear a mask inside the car.

Q Can I sleep in a guesthouse or hotel instead of in the caravan?

A: Of course you can. You can use the caravan as a rest and chat space after diving, and you can stay at a private inn or hotel. Caravan tours allow you to use the caravan freely and free of charge, so if you use accommodation, you will have to pay the accommodation fee yourself. We can arrange accommodation for you.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask.
